More scrapbooking!

I told you. I have been doing laundry and scrapbooking my heart out. After being away for a week and a half, I missed having the time to be creative. Here is a card I did using Core'dinations cardstock.

For the flower I used my bigshot and a quikutz die and my swiss dot embossing folder. I sanded the flower a bit and also the dots. It really brings out the core color. For the days of the week, I cut that out with my silhouette using the days border. I just resized it to fit on a card.

this week

I have been washing huge mountains of laundry. But I have also been editing pictures from our trip and scrapbooking! But rather put everything into one post, I will spread it out :)

Here is what I have created so far with the June SD4U kit. It is GORGEOUS!

I have another layout done but it is for a class on the site later in the month. and I have enough scraps for one card. I have really used this kit up. My girls were hoping for leftovers but all I have are little pieces of paper and some embellishments.

Martha, again has outdone herself. Two beautiful kits. I am playing with the Zinnia kit this month and can't wait to dig into mine this week.

Before I can play I need to catch up with laundry :)

sorry for the unscheduled blog break

We were here:

You know the slogan, the happiest place on earth? well, not so much. I know my cousin and her family went and had a great time. and so would we have. Except for one thing. Pouring sheets of rain. I would not say we had a horrible time. But the two days we had scheduled for magic kingdon we just kept having visions of dollar signs being flushed right before our eyes. I know we would have had a great time but we are pretty sure it would not have been worth the money for our family. But the campground at disney resorts was very nice. We ended up leaving a day early and went to Destin. The sun came out long enough for us to play on the beach and swim in the pool. When it started to rain again we headed to visit my Aunt and Uncle and Cousins. That whole day was wonderful. So for us, we will skip WDW and head to the beach for our next vacation. I will edit pictures this week to share. Some funny ones of us in our ponchos with rain just pounding us :)

I love mail :)

Well, as long as it's not a bill, LOL. But I especially loved receiving a big 'ole box of Core'dinations cardstock! 30 lbs of cardstock :) I had some time at nap yesterday to play and this is what I came up with:

supplies used:
cardstock: Core'dinations(jelly cupboard, aqueduct, weathered tin)
die cut machine: Quickuts Silhouette ( sm. ric rack)
punches and rub on: Stampin'Up

I love how it turned out. I wanted to play with color and came up with a color combination that is very different for me. Lots of fun.

Have a great day!

lovely!

What has Heather been up to? Ordering these lovely fabrics.

I have been bitten by the sewing bug. My girls helped pick out the fabrics for the patterns we purchased a couple of months ago. I can't wait to dig in. We have plans for a dress, 2 skirts and a couple of outfits for the baby.

I also purchased a pattern magazine after reading Anna- Maria Horner's post.

Aren't those darling? I have plans for both of those tops :)

Oh how I love etsy

I have a serious crush on etsy.com I love being able to buy handmade items that I can't make myself. So I thought I would share some of my favorite sellers.

A wonderful photographer. I have some of his surf pictures in my favorites to decorate my 3 boys room that have surf bedding.

JP Greenwood

I have been looking for YEARS for a masculine cross for hubby to wear. I would see them in pictures but could never find them for purchase. I even emailed Tim McGraw and asked where he bought his. The email answer person said that he bought them from different places without telling me where LOL! I was very happy to find these. I bought hubby 2 for his birthday. They are wonderful.

With 4 girls, I love cute hair things. These are so adorable. Can't wait to get the one I just ordered. and you have to read her blog. Beautiful crafts, beautiful pictures. and touching story behind the name of her shop.

Joy's Hope

I bought one of these for the baby. it is sized for a 2 y/o :) but I was worried that with that new law that she would not be selling them any more, so I went ahead and bought it. It is beautifully made.

Savannah Lane

I bought the cupcake beanie for the baby when she was born. It was so adorable on!

Nini's Handmades

Again with the cute hairbands for the girls. I have not ordered one of these yet. But I hope to soon.

Some favorites right now

My wedding ring bit the dust. Actually hubby's did too. I felt a little odd going around with 10 children and no ring. So until we find and save for new wedding bands I bought myself a silver band from Lisa Leonard Designs. I had our names engraved on it. So pretty and VERY afforable. I have actually bought 3 necklaces from Lisa as well. 2 for me and one for my mom for her birthday

I don't have a problem buying cheap drug store makeup. But when I added the cost of face cleaner and mosturizer up, the drug store kind was alot more than a good kind. I know it looks very pricey. and hey when you are broke anything looks expensive. But this stuff lasts. The Mosturizer lasts a good 6 months and the face wash over 6 months. I buy pure cream face wash and Youthtopia mosturizer :)

Origins

and I am very much enjoying reading this book by the Farm Chicks

Farm Chicks

and I am loving these cds:

kind of a folk rock sound

Ray Lamontagne

and this one for worship

Chris Tomlin

When you are feeling down. Crank up "mighty is the power of the cross" !!! It works :)

Sunday fun

Sunday was all about cooking. Hubby smoked ribs and chicken. I made chinese chicken salad for lunch. Then for dinner: the ribs and chicken, roasted asparagus, deviled eggs and apple dumplings. Not a scrap left! They were like a swarm of locusts LOL.

On Saturday we also came across an old train depot. John Wayne used it in a movie. We took some pictures there too:

Saturday fun!

We love to load up into the car and drive. So that is what we did on Saturday. Hubby met a guy that owns a gallery for his landscape photography and we went and took a peek. He had some great pictures. We bought 2 prints, left and realized that my MIL would love the one I picked for myself. So we need to go back to get another one for me. I will send thie one we already bought to MIL. He has a website. www.realsouthernimages.com. If you look under gallery and under the heading our faith. We bought the slate back pew print and the very well loved open bible print. The bible one is the one I picked. My MIL will love it. We stopped for lunch then found an old civil war burial site. It's funny we drove passed it and the kids, not knowing what we were looking for, started yelling "oh yeah, look a graveyard!" Yep, we do love to look at old graveyards, the kids too. This one was also a family site for one family. The Doolittles. So many of them had a baby die every year for 3,4 and 5 years. Very sad. and one grave was off by itself and all it said was grave. Not unknown, nothing. We took some great pictures. Then we saw an old ice cream shop and managed to convince our oldest that he was due for some new pictures. Don't mind his shirt. Not what any of us would have picked for pictures. But if any one was wondering about large family christian homeschoolers being cookie cutters for families on tv or that you hear in the news, our pictures will probably tell you that we are not like that :) We headed for home, stopping to eat frozen custard for dinner. Came home and just hung out together. It was perfect.

Ok just a couple of pictures. I haven't gone through all 400 yet!
