my sewing

Alas, the top did not go as easily as the pants. I ended up tossing it. The pictures were not as clear and the pieces did not fit. So I am waiting on more fabric. Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for such fast service. The fabric is already on it's way :) I will make a different top for Ellie. Hopefully this one will be easier ;) I have a bit of time, her birthday isn't until the beginning of November. Can you believe she is almost 1!!! But here are the little pants and headband. Her cousin is getting a matching pair.

I am so in love with this Basic Grey fabric! I think I will start on a skirt for my 12 y/o out of the Sultry fabric.

Happy Wednesday Eeyore and other randoms

rain rain go away come again another day! It has been raining every day for weeks here! My little boys are bouncing off the walls.

I have been bitten by the sewing bug.(again) I started sewing girls clothes when my 10 y/o was 2. So I was making size 2, 4 and 6 at the time. But I haven't sewn anything (other than layouts ;)) for 6 years. But with the addition of another baby girl I have been wanting to get back into it. So I pull out the awesome patterns from Portabellopixie. I start with the ruffle pants. Because I figure 3 pattern pieces, I can't go wrong. and they didn't. They were quick and easy. 2 hours tops. I try them on Ellie. and well. She has thunder thighs. So the 12- 18months did not even come close to fitting. So luckily I had enough fabric to make the next size up. She can't get chubbier between now and her birthday but they fit :) So the other pair? I make a headband to match and will pick up a dress and send the set off to my cousin. Her children are little beanpoles :) Her 18 month old weighs 5 pounds LESS than my 10 month old :)The fabric I am using? Basic Grey christmas! It is so gorgeous! I will show pictures when I am done with the top. I plan on cutting the fabric today and sewing tomorrow.

Speaking of fabric be sure to check out Sandi Henderson's new line and the gorgeous line from Patty Young. I see lots more sewing in my future.

Hi there!

Sorry for the unexcused absence :) We started our homeschool last week and I just got busy. I need to get back into my groove.

Here are some projects I have done using the August kit from 3 Scrappy Boys:
The first layout uses a sketch I did for the newsletter. There is a contest every month now to use one of the sketches that the design team used and upload it into the gallery. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to see all the sketches.

Have a great week!
