Wow

It has been so long since I have submitted a layout for magazine publication. Imagine my surprise and pleasure to receive an email from my favorite craft magazine "Mollie Makes". Saying that they were publishing a layout of mine that had previously appeared in another publication. I can't wait to see it!

Picture share

I had a family shoot one day and took one of my daughters with me to help out. Before the family arrived I took a few quick pictures of my daughter. I can't believe how grown up she has become. Crazy scary how fast they grow up.

time flies

Ugh, again I have let so much ime pass since updating my blog. I have just been enjoying the beautiful weather here in the south. One of our parks here was remodeled and we have been trying to hit it once a week. In fact I think we may go again today. After 2 days of rain, my kids are so full of energy from being cooped up!. I have been doing a little scrapping too. Not as much as I would like. but some. Here are a few recents.

These all used the add on kit from 3 Scrappy Boys.

I will try to be better about keeping this thing updated!

It's DT call again!

Here's the details:

3 Scrappy Boys is taking applications for several positions (international applicants welcome) on our Design Team.
Design Team Requirements:

• 3SBDT members will receive one free kit every other month and will use the kit for designing layouts, cards, projects etc. On the month the 3SB DT member receives their kit, a minimum of 3 layouts must be submitted and 1 card, or comparable projects must be uploaded to the appropriate place in the gallery. The kit should be used to its fullest extent.

• 3SBDT members will contribute to a monthly newsletter. Members will rotate assignments which will include but not be limited to technique articles, product spotlights, seasonal and holiday ideas, altered project ideas, etc. Those members that are not on “kit cycle” may also contribute to the newsletter as they are able.

• 3SBDT members will maintain a daily presence on the message board(at least 5 posts a day, 3 new posts) and gallery. This includes initiating discussions, responding in discussions, leaving gallery feedback and uploading non-DT work to the member’s own gallery.

• 3SBDT members will be required to participate in a maximum of 2 large online crop (1 per quarter) during their term. Depending on the work required for the crop, extra compensation may be given.

• 3SBDT members will be required to post 1 kit challenge on their assigned month.

• 3SBDT members will be required to lead various other small challenges and contests (i.e. layouts of the day, mini stash challenges, etc)

• 3SBDT members will promote 3SB on Willow Traders, Kit Peas and other message boards that are not in direct competition with 3 SB. 3SBDT will also be required to post to both the 3SB blog and facebook page.

• 3SBDT members may be on other DTs but may not promote the companies they work for on the 3 SB forums unless the other company is a manufacturer or other business not in direct competition with 3 SB.

• 3SBDT members are asked to post kit reveals and peaks of their DT work with 3SB kits on their blogs.

• 3SBDT members will be asked to create a step by step/class once per term.
• 3SB is looking to start teaching online classes and DT members will be asked to contribute to these classes.

Design Team members will be on a probationary period for 3 months. At the end of the 3 months, assuming there are no issues with team participation (this means maintaining a presence on the boards, facebook, and blog as well as completing assignments on time), they will continue to complete the 6 month term. If significant problems occur during the probationary time, they will be asked to step down.

Design team members receive a 25% discount on store and kit orders.

To apply, please send the following to heather@3scrappyboys.com :
o 5-7 examples of your work including layouts, cards and altered projects
o a list of other design teams you are currently on and have been on in the past. Include the dates you have been involved with other design teams. An email address for a contact person (i.e team leader, business owner, etc) is strongly encouraged.
o links to any of your online galleries

Application deadline is October 6th. New members will be notified privately approximately October 9th and will be announced publicly shortly thereafter. New team members will begin their assignment with the November 2011 kits.

It is not a requirement that you use a 3 Scrappy Boys kit, however, it is easier to judge talent and ability to use a kit to its full extent, if a kit is used. For that reason, all 3 Scrappy Boys kits are currently on sale to enable applicants to purchase a kit for use. Shipping is within 24 hours except on weekends and postal holidays.

We would love to have you on the team, so apply :)

.Wow

It has been so long since I have posted. I guess I haven't had anything to say. I would love to say that it is because we have been so busy doing wonderful things but we really haven't done much this summer. Just feeling sort of blah. But I have done a little scrapping this week. I can share one for now.

Used the 3 Scrappyboy September trio:

My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy

I have been so lucky to have been on the Core'dinations DT this past year. As you can see on my blog, most of my cards and layouts use Core'dinations papers. They are so incredible. They are having a design team call right now. I am hoping to stay on, so I have been playing with some of my new (and old) goodies.

This card uses some of the new glimmer silk in 8 1/2 x 11(white). Sized perfectly for card makers. It also uses some vintage (yellow and purple) and Core Impressions for Stacy Jullian (aqua)and essentails (red and green) I embossed the red cardstock with a dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

This layout uses Core Couture (aqua), glimmer silk (yellow and aqua raindrops and white clouds)and essentials (aqua and navy and pink) the yellow dot is from Core Impressions for Stacy Jullian.

This layout uses Core Essentials (white, navy, hot pink and grey) and Core Impressions for Basic Grey (light pink) the brads are from Basic Grey and I cut the wave shape using a Paper Tear Edger from Fiskars. The gems are from Queen &co.

Wish me luck :)
You should consider trying out, they are an amazing company to work with.

What I have been doing this weekend!

We had a busy but fun weekend and it started on Friday when my hubby took off Friday. Things slow down the week of Mardi Gras here in the south :)

I took a ton of pictures of the kids. Not the big boys because they had plans but I did manage to get pictures of the rest of them.

I have more to go through that I will share soon and some scrappy projects :)
Have a great Monday!

It's Maya Road and Core'dinations Cardstock!

We have teamed up this week to bring you some great projects!

Favorite sewing books

I have shared that I love the book Sewing Bits and pieces

But here are 2 more that I consider must haves in my collection.

Oliver & S Little Things To Sew

This is perfect for Moms of Boys and Girls alike. A tutu, a penguin backpack and an explorers vest are on my children's list of things for me to sew for them. They had a great time looking through and marking pages.

and this book is an absolute must have for me. It is fairly new on the market and I really debated on buying it seeing that I have so many other sewing books.

Stitch By Stitch: Learning to Sew, One Project at a Time

The projects are pretty useful items but what it really does is show you project by project how to sew. It really builds on what you did with the first project and teaches something new with each progressive item. It is also a fun read. She has a great sense of humor. I made a skirt for my 2 y/o from this book I will have to take a picture to share. It is pretty big. The skirt is a size 3 but it is really a 3/4 and she is in a 2/3. Since it is a longer skirt it will last her the next 3 years. I love it so much I bought fabric to make another on (smaller this time). So if you are wanting to learn to sew, are rusting sewing or want to learn so new techniques, this book is fabulous.

sewing like a madwoman

Spring is in the air here in the south. So I have been sewing pretty little skirts for my 2 year old for the coming warm weather. Here are two I have recently finished.

This one uses a PDF pattern by Ginger Louise

and this one uses a pattern from the book Little Girls Big Style

I recommend the pattern. It was super easy to follow. No pattern pieces, just measure and rip and sew :) It only took about an hour.

I love this book and highly recommend it. It gave clear, easy to follow directions and it was also finished in an hour.

I have a few more books to recommend that I will share in a coming post.

CHA shares

For those that don't live, eat, and breath scrapbooking, CHA is the Crafts and Hobby Association. Twice a year they have a convention that showcases all the upcoming products for store owners to see and purchase. I am blessed to be on the design team for Core'dinations Cardstock. Here are the projects I did for the show.

This layout used Core essentials and Gemstones.

These next 3 use the new pearl cardstock.

This one uses the vintage line.

Time really does pass so much more quickly than I would think (or want sometimes :) ) Olivia is five months old today.

Rolls from front to back and is now pretty close to back to front

Loves to stand up while we hold her on our laps

Loves kisses and will kiss back

Loves her siblings
