Christmas spirit

It is no secret that I love Christmas. I love everything about it. This year I love it even more because I only have 2 more gifts to buy. I already know what they are I was just trying to spread out the $. What makes being alomost done so great is that I can really focus on doing crafts with the children and just spending time together. Since I am feeling the Christmas spirit I have made a little gift box to help with the wrapping part of the gifts.

Flu!

Yep. Fun for the whole family. Ha. I finally feel like getting up off the couch after 6 days. To celebrate our family's return to health we took a scenic tour ending in a picnic. The weather was perfect and the company was even more so. Here are some pictures. I went through only about half but here are some favorites so far.

Another layout

I love how versatile Core'dinations cardstock is. The vintage line is so unique. I find I am not using as much patterned paper because of all the looks I can get with this cardstock. Here is a layout I just did. I love these pictures. They are from a year ago! They are some of my favorite pictures.

supplies:
cardstock: Core'dinations
punch: EK Sucess (leaf border) Matha Stewart ( large maple)

Where did the time go?

Seriously? I have no idea how time got away from me. We spent last weekend hanging out with friends. Lots os fun. Fall festival's and bbq's :) I haven't even had time to download my camera! I have been going through the house bit by bit. Getting rid of things we don't need or use. I am tired of clutter. Next is the little boys room.

Here is a layout I made using the October kit from 3 Scrappy Boys. I will share the rest after the newsletter goes out :)

This was the last kit with Heather N as the owner. The new owner (also a Heather) will start back up with kits in December. She has shared the lines she has coming and I am so excited to play with my favorite companies.

pumpkin patch fun

My poor husband was feeling like crud but the pumpkin patch is only open to the public on weekends and it closes next Saturday. We did not want to go on Halloween, so it was yesterday or not at all this year. So we went anyway. We had a great day. Not as expensive as we thought it would be. About $6.00 a person which included a 45 minute hayride and a pumpkin. We went at full sun so did not get as many pictures as we would have liked but still managed to get some good ones.

The cow with the muddy face cracked us up.

This one shows what a joker my hubby can be :)

Oh my! How did this happen! Too grown up for sure.

just a quickie

I finished Ellie's dress and managed to get a picture. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out! I see more of these in her future ;)

fabric: Basic Grey, patterns: Portabellapixie

Now to finish the layout I started the other day!

Hey :)

I have been a bad blogger. No reason. Just a lack of things to say. Nothing really exciting happening. School and laundry do not necessarily make for good conversation. I could tell you how much I love those Shout Color Catchers :) Those things rock! I put one in almost every load. With dark wash jeans being the style and those long sleeve boys shirts that are a colored body with white sleeves, Color catchers are a must. I can't tell you how many boys shirts after the first wash colored the white sleeves pink or gray. Grrrrrrrr. So I am happy to buy a box of color catchers every couple of weeks to save $ on clothes. That is my exciting laundry tip ;)

As for scrapping, not much happening. The baby is waking so often I am only getting about 4 hours of nonconsecutive sleep a night. So I am too dang tired to play with paper and photos. I did make a couple of cards. I love how quickly a card can come together when I want to make something but don't have a lot of time or energy :)

supplies:
cardstock: Core'dinations
ribbon and button: Stampin' Up
I used a mini Scor-it to make the grid lines

I will be back tomorrow to share the other card and hopefully the dress to go with the baby's ruffle pants :)

my sewing

Alas, the top did not go as easily as the pants. I ended up tossing it. The pictures were not as clear and the pieces did not fit. So I am waiting on more fabric. Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for such fast service. The fabric is already on it's way :) I will make a different top for Ellie. Hopefully this one will be easier ;) I have a bit of time, her birthday isn't until the beginning of November. Can you believe she is almost 1!!! But here are the little pants and headband. Her cousin is getting a matching pair.

I am so in love with this Basic Grey fabric! I think I will start on a skirt for my 12 y/o out of the Sultry fabric.

Happy Wednesday Eeyore and other randoms

rain rain go away come again another day! It has been raining every day for weeks here! My little boys are bouncing off the walls.

I have been bitten by the sewing bug.(again) I started sewing girls clothes when my 10 y/o was 2. So I was making size 2, 4 and 6 at the time. But I haven't sewn anything (other than layouts ;)) for 6 years. But with the addition of another baby girl I have been wanting to get back into it. So I pull out the awesome patterns from Portabellopixie. I start with the ruffle pants. Because I figure 3 pattern pieces, I can't go wrong. and they didn't. They were quick and easy. 2 hours tops. I try them on Ellie. and well. She has thunder thighs. So the 12- 18months did not even come close to fitting. So luckily I had enough fabric to make the next size up. She can't get chubbier between now and her birthday but they fit :) So the other pair? I make a headband to match and will pick up a dress and send the set off to my cousin. Her children are little beanpoles :) Her 18 month old weighs 5 pounds LESS than my 10 month old :)The fabric I am using? Basic Grey christmas! It is so gorgeous! I will show pictures when I am done with the top. I plan on cutting the fabric today and sewing tomorrow.

Speaking of fabric be sure to check out Sandi Henderson's new line and the gorgeous line from Patty Young. I see lots more sewing in my future.

Hi there!

Sorry for the unexcused absence :) We started our homeschool last week and I just got busy. I need to get back into my groove.

Here are some projects I have done using the August kit from 3 Scrappy Boys:
The first layout uses a sketch I did for the newsletter. There is a contest every month now to use one of the sketches that the design team used and upload it into the gallery. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to see all the sketches.

Have a great week!
