another November layout
another sale!
As if the last sale wasn't enough, Heather is having another one!
Okay ladies, this is the end of the anniversary/Thanksgiving holiday deals and it is in my opinion the best one yet. So starting now in the special deal section of the store there are 5 kit packs-main only, add-on only, trio only and a combo pack. These are spectacular deals and are basically my version of the warehouse clearance type items that manufacturers are offering as they fit in a flat rate box. So, here's an example-if you are a trio subscriber but really wanted some of the main kits, purchase the main kit pack and get the ones you wanted at a discount. If there were particular kits you wanted, please write that in the comment section and as long as it's still in stock, I will make sure you get it.
This is a great way to get yourself some kits and your friends a gift for Christmas for a great price.

favorites
Over the next few weeks I am going to continue to share my favorites with you. I have already shared some sewing favorites but I didn't share my favorite pattern designers. They also have great blogs :)
Sandi Henderson
Patty Young
I have made items using patterns from both designers and they are so easy to follow. They have really taken the time to make sure that you can easily understand whet you are supposed to do.
Sandi also has authored my favorite sewing book.
Rumor has it that Patty has a book in the works too :)

other hobbies
Yes, I actually do have other hobbies besides scrapbooking. Photography and reading for sure. But I also love to sew. When my older girls turned 8 I stopped sewing for them and I hadn't sewn in a few years, but with 2 little girls in the house again I have taken it back up. For those of you that are new to sewing or haven't sewn in awhile a great option is to buy a sewing kit from Etsy. The fabric is precut in the size you need and it comes with easy to follow instructions. 2 shops I have bought sewing kits from are:
Little Fish Big Pond
and
Oh So Sassy
and while I would not consider myself a beginning sewer I love having them cut out for me. Saves me so much time and with a new baby in the house, I need that!
Or if you are looking for some new patterns, PDF patterns are a great option. They are emailed to or you download them from the site. Here are some favorite places to purchase from:
Kustom Kids Boutique
Kissing Kumquats
Zozo Bug Baby
and if you are looking for fabric, I have found a new store to purchase from. Amazing customer service!
Hawthorne Threads
For inspiration I love the KinderKouture blog :)
Here is my almost 2 year old wearing a peasant top I made using a kit from Little Fish Big Pond.

I bought 2 of these kits to make matching tops for the two baby girls. I will make some denim ruffled pants to go with them.
LittleFishBigPond
Had to get baby Olivia one of these for Winter :)
Snugars
They have the cutest headbands!
Lou and Lee
She has some really cute PDF patterns as well as ready made items. I bought on of the tunic patterns and plan to make it soon.

October already!
I can't believe it is already October! The leaves are just starting to change here. If only it would cool down a smidge!
I have finally started scrapbooking again after having baby Olivia. I always forget how hard it can be to get into a new routine :) But I am having so much fun cuddling with her.
Here is a layout I did using the Olivia papers from Basic Grey and Core'dinations cardstock. I even used the new Stacy Julian Core. They are the teal and the green pieces in the banner.

DT call at 3SB
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe it, but it's time to have a design team call again! Here is the list of rules. Please send all applications to heather@3scrappyboys.com by October 10th.
3 Scrappy Boys is taking applications for several positions on our Design Team.
Design Team Requirements:
• 3SBDT members will receive one free kit every other month and will use the kit for designing layouts, cards, projects etc. On the month the 3SB DT member receives their kit, a minimum of 3 layouts must be submitted and 1 card, or comparable projects must be uploaded to the appropriate place in the gallery. The kit should be used to its fullest extent.
• 3SBDT members will contribute to a monthly newsletter. Members will rotate assignments which will include but not be limited to technique articles, product spotlights, seasonal and holiday ideas, altered project ideas, etc. Those members that are not on “kit cycle” may also contribute to the newsletter as they are able.
• 3SBDT members will maintain a daily presence on the message board and gallery. This includes initiating discussions, responding in discussions, leaving gallery feedback and uploading non-DT work to the member’s own gallery.
• 3SBDT members will be required to participate in a maximum of 1 large online crop during their term. Depending on the work required for the crop, extra compensation may be given.
• 3SBDT members will be required to post 1 kit challenge on their assigned month.
• 3SBDT members will be required to lead various other small challenges and contests (i.e. layouts of the day, mini stash challenges, etc)
• 3SBDT members will promote 3SB on Willow Traders, Kit Peas and other message boards that are not in direct competition with 3 SB. 3SBDT will also be required to post to both the 3SB blog and facebook page.
• 3SBDT members may be on other DTs but may not promote the companies they work for on the 3 SB forums unless the other company is a manufacturer or other business not in direct competition with 3 SB.
• 3SBDT members are asked to post kit reveals and peaks of their DT work with 3SB kits on their blogs.
Design Team members will be on a probationary period for 3 months. At the end of the 3 months, assuming there are no issues with team participation, the design team member will be offered a permanent contract for a period of 6 months and will begin receiving a Design Team discount for purchases in the store. DT team members are immediately eligible to purchase kits on their “off-cycle” months at a discount of 25% off.
To apply, please send the following to heather@3scrappyboys.com :
o 5-7 examples of your work including layouts, cards and altered projects
o a list of other design teams you are currently on and have been on in the past. Include the dates you have been involved with other design teams. An email address for a contact person (i.e team leader, business owner, etc) is strongly encouraged.
o links to any of your online galleries
Application deadline is OCTOBER 10th. New members will be notified privately approximately October 15th and will be announced publicly shortly thereafter. New team members will begin their assignment with the November 2010 kits.

crop at 3 Scrappy Boys!
Here is what the owner Heather has to say in a newsletter she sent out!
Hope everybody is having a great weekend! School has restarted here in North Carolina and will soon be in session for most folks here in the states, so we are going to have a back to school crop! It starts September 8th on the forums. There will be classes, challenges, prizes, and of course lots of chatter. We would love to have you come participate.
To help everybody prepare, I have decided to have a sale. Everything in the store is on sale! There is a new clearance section that has items 40-50% off, including some 2009 kits that can be found on the last few pages. All kits are marked down 10-25% off, including the August embellie add-on kits. I even went all out and included grab bags, which means you are saving over 65% off retail!
Other news-the September kits are chock full of new stuff from CHA summer and although most of it is here, some is still missing. So, September kits will not ship on the 1st as they usually do, but they will go out as soon as the last few products arrive. Last, but not least, there are several new items in the store from My Little Shoebox, Maya Road, and BoBunny, with much more to come, so keep checking back!
We really want our back to school crop to be a lot of fun, which means we want to see lots of people come join in! If you are not registered on the forums, go register and plan to join us and help us spread the word. Let your friends know via blogs, facebook, message boards, challenge blogs, etc. about both the crop and the sale, then come join us on September 8th!
I hope you join us!

Coredinations and Queen & CO
What an amazing combination! I love Queen & Co products and Queen & Co. has recently released a line of embellishments which coordinate with colour families from Core'dinations! They generously sent the Core'dination design team some awesome stuff to play with. I will be sharing what I have made this week. Starting with this card :)

hi, remember me?
Do you remember those old Mervyns commercials? The ones for the sales. They would have ladies lined up in the middle of the night at the doors chanting "open, open, open". That is what I am feeling like.
I am in waiting mode. Waitng for our baby to decide to arrive. She is now 13 days overdue. The longest I have ever gone. Most were born on their due date. Yes, I know that was sort of a freak thing and maybe it spoiled me :)
So that is what I have been doing for 3 weeks since my last post. But I will try to pop on and share some layouts I have done before the weekend is over. Unless baby "O" makes her appearance.

nesting :)
While I have been sitting with my feet up, I had the sewing bug bite. I also wanted to do some room redos. So I finished the room the 2 baby girls will be sharing.
I have wanted to make these pom poms forever and finally did. They were very easy!
A banner based on one from Sandi Henderson's book Bits & Pieces. A totally amazing sewing book!
A ruffled pillow cover. Fast & fun to make. Used a tutorial from http://tinydecorblog.com/blog/?p=2782 added the ruffles where I wanted them.

Bad blogger
When you are mostly sitting around with your feet up, it does not make for exciting blog posts! but I did manage to make 1 layout so far with the July 3 Scrappy Boys main kit. Picture me with my feet up hunched over my huge belly! Should have had my hubby take pictures LOL.
I will post more as soon as they are finished!
I will post more as soon as they are finished!
run run run!
3 Scrappy Boys is having a huge 4th of July sale! Everything in the store is on sale, including past kits. Some kits are up to 40% off, but hurry there are just a few of those left. We have also added some newly released product and brought back grab bags-embellie, thicker, and paper. One more new item-we have a limited number of warehouse clearance packs for just $19.99. So, grab yourself some new stuff and sit back and relax this weekend! Have a great 4th! And to all my international folks, just enjoy the day!

I had been having a ton of contractions and I am doing my best to keep baby girl where she belongs until closer to my due date. They have been much better with my resting so I plan to keep my feet up as much as possible. I did want to pop in the share some projects I did using Core'dinations and Imaginisce.

pictures pictures and more pictures
We were bored the weekend before last and decided to spend Saturday on a road trip. We took a TON of pictures. I will be sharing them all this week. It has been awhile. So glad to have nice sunny weather again so that we can take pictures again.
This picture was done tongue in cheek. We get asked all the time when we are going to stop having kids, so when my hubby saw this sidewalk with the stop sign at the end of it, he just had to take a picture. (for those wondering, we just leave it up to God how many children we will have ;))
More pictures coming later in the week :)
